Boddewyn, Jean

Jean Boddewyn is Emeritus Professor of Marketing and International Business and former Coordinator of the International Business Program in the Zicklin School of Business of Baruch College, City University of New York. He holds a Commercial Engineer degree from the University of Louvain (Belgium), a MBA from the University of Oregon, and a Ph. D. in Business Administration from the University of Washington (Seattle). His current research interests center on business political behaviour, international public affairs, the regulation and self-regulation of advertising around the world, international business strategy and competitive dynamic. He received the 2002 Academy of Management’s Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his service as Editor of International Studies of Management & Organization since 1971; his pioneering research on comparative management, foreign divestment and international business-government relations, and his leadership roles as an early Chair (1974) of the AOM’s International Management Division as well as Vice President (1975-1976) and President (1993-1994) of the Academy of International Business. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business, the Academy of Management and the International Academy of Management.
