Y.Y. Wong, is a Singaporean Chinese businessman, and founder of the Wywy Group of Companies. Managing Director PhD, Master AppSc (Safety Mgt), GDAS(OHS), B.Sc.(Civil Engg), Reg. Safety Engineer (China), DMS, CFIOSH, FHKOSHA, CMHKIE, RSP, CSP, RSO, ASA, RSA.
Dr. Wong started his career in the occupational Safety & Health as a Factory Inspector of Labour Department. He left the Government after 8 years of service and worked in various construction projects for more than 10 years before he was appointed as the Executive Director of the Occupational Safety & Health Council when it was set up in 1988.
He formed Y. Y. Wong Safety Consultants Limited in 1994. Dr. Wong is a Civil Engineer by training and obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of South Australia on business and management. He is a Fellow member and Registered Safety Practitioner of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in U.K, a Fellow of the Royal Institute for the Promotion of Health. He is also a Certified Safety Professional of the United States.
Dr. Wong is a Fellow member and was the past President of the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Association of Hong Kong and founder President of the Society of Accredited Safety Auditors.
