Chair and Founding Executive DirectorEMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation
José R. De La Torre is the Chair and Founding Executive Director of the EMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation, Professor at the Bologna Business School, and Visiting Professor at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.

Previously he held the J.K. Batten Chair in Strategy at Florida International University where he was the Founding Dean of the Chapman Graduate School of Business, and served on the faculty at UCLA’s Anderson School, INSEAD, Georgia State University, and Harvard Business School.

He has held numerous visiting appointments in Latin America, Sweden, and France. Professor De La Torre is the author of over 65 books and articles and more than 30 case studies in the field of international business and strategy.  He completed his doctorate at the Harvard Business School in 1970, following degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.

He served as President of the European International Business Association and the Academy of International Business.  He is an elected Fellow of the AIB, the Strategic Management Society, BALAS, and the International Academy of Management, and was named Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Academy of Management in 2013. Dr. De La Torre has consulted with many international companies in Europe, the United States, Japan and Latin America, and served as Director of international companies based in Mexico, India, and Florida.

He has also served on the International Advisory Boards of business schools in France, Italy, Portugal, Argentina and Uruguay, was External Examiner for the Cyprus Institute of International Management and a member of the Miami Support Network for Ashoka.
