Dr Ivor Kenny was IAM Chancellor years 1982-1987. He is a director of Independent News & Media Plc and of IONA Technologies Plc. He was chairman or member of several boards or commissions in both public and private sectors.
He was a Senior Research Fellow at University College Dublin and President of the International Management Centers and he was Director General of the Irish Management Institute from 1962 to 1983; Chancellor of the International Academy of Management; a Research Professor of Political Economy at Trinity College Dublin; and Executive in Residence at Indiana University. This is his eleventh book, including the best-selling Leaders (2001) and Freedom and Order.
Dr. Kenny has been awarded the Keris of Excellence for Outstanding Doctor of Letters (DLitt) thesis on Strategic Leadership in Irish Organizations, together with his published work. The International Management Centers award degrees in accordance with universities in Oxford, in Surrey and also in Canada , Australia and the Netherlands.
Dr Kenny is chairman of Smurfit Paribas Bank and of Odyssey PLC and a director of the Kerry Group PLC and of Independent Newspapers PLC. He is a Senior Research Fellow at UCD.
His DLitt thesis was based on studies of twelve major Irish organizations over a 15-year period.
His eighth book, “Freedom and Order” based on the thesis, will be published in Dublin by Oak Tree Press early in 1999.
