Mr. Alvo has been Chief Executive Officer of LATAM Airlines Group since April 2020, after some two decades with the company in roles spanning commercial strategy, network and alliances, fleet, cargo, technology, planning and finance. He led the group through the restructuring that followed the pandemic and its return to profitability, and in June 2026 he was elected Chair of the Board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association, the industry’s global body. Before joining LATAM he worked at Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile. A civil engineer by training, he holds an MBA from IMD in Lausanne.
