The IAM Celebrates a Century of Management Thought in Prague

On November 21–23, 2024, the International Academy of Management returned to Prague — the city where it was founded in 1924 — to celebrate its Centennial. Hosted by the University of New York in Prague, the gathering brought together fellows and guests from around the world under the theme “A Century of Management Thought: Reflecting on the Past, Shaping the Future.”

Keynote presentations were delivered by Professor Ichak Adizes (“The Future of Management and Leadership Development: A Manifesto”) and Professor Andrew Hoffman (“The Role of Management and Management Scholars in Addressing Today’s Global Challenges”). The program also featured a synthesis of the centennial conversations on vision, change, and global impact by Chancellor Alfredo Enrione, and a forward-looking session on the IAM’s second century.

The proceedings of the Centennial Celebration — including selected pages from the original 1924 First International Management Congress — are available here: Proceedings of the IAM Centennial Celebration, Prague 2024 (PDF).
