Currently, his primary research interests focus on corporate social responsibility, the role of businessmen as social leaders and local community development.
Since 1985, Professor Paladino has written over 100 cases, technical notes and papers, published by IAE, IESE, CIBS-HEC (Canada) and other Latin American and international institutions. In 1989, he was awarded the second prize at the case writing competition organized by CLADEA. In 2001, he received the MCB Press Literati Club Excellence Award.
In the 1980’s and 1990’s, he conducted extensive research on company turn-over and reengineering processes, privatizations and regulation changes. In 1990, sponsored by AID USA, he led a research effort based on cases. Between 1992 and 1994, he focused his research in issues relating to the Latin American oil sector.
In 1993, he started working with International Manufacturing Strategy Survey and International Service Survey research networks, which link over 20 worldwide universities involved in quality and improvement issues.
His research papers have been accepted at conferences organized by the British Academy of Management (1996), Business Association for Latin-American Studies (BALAS, 1997), CLADEA (1996), POMS (USA, 1998), POMS (South Africa, 1998), EUROMA (1998,1999), Service Operations Management Association-SOMA (1999), NACRA (1999), IESE’s International Ethics Conference (Spain, 2001), SASE, LSE (U.K.), Warwick Corporate Citizenship Unit, and SASE 2001. In 1994, he started working for the Argentine Chapter of the World Economic Forum’s Competitiveness Report. He lectured at the MERCOSUR Summit in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Professor Paladino has also published several books.
In 1992, he published, jointly with Rodolfo Biosca, the book entitled Competitividad (Editorial Atlántida). He collaborated in two chapters of the book International Manufacturing Strategies de C. Lindberg, A. Voss y K. Blackmon (Eds.),1998.
In 1999, he published the book Teconología y Competitividad en el MERCOSUR (Ediciones Macchi). With fellow IAE Profesor Roberto Luchi, he Publisher the book Competitividad: Innovación y mejora continua en la gestión (Ediciones Gestión 2000 S.A.) in April 2001.
While still a student, Professor Paladino worked for DUPONT and BGH. In 1979, he joined Molinos Río de la Plata, a Bunge & Born Holding company, as Head of the Technical Department, Food Division, where he remained until 1982.
In 1982 and 1983, he worked as a specialist for Materiales, Asesoramientos y Servicios SA. He has served as an advisor to more than 25 leading Latin American companies since 1983.
