President of the Flemish Council for Science and Innovation (VRWI)
Mr. Dirk Boogmans, Civil Engineer and holder of an MBA, started his career in 1980 at Generale Bank.
He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Caesar Real Estate Fund and Global Lifting Partners.
Later he moved to the GIMV, where in 1989 he became a Member of the Executive Committee.
From 1998 to June 2001 he was Managing Director of the construction group CFE
From 2001 until July 2008 he returned to the GIMV, first as General Manager and later as CEO.
Dirk Boogmans sits on the Board of Directors of:
BNP Paribas Fortis Bank,
GIMV,
Vinçotte,
Ethias Finance,
P & V,
Collibra,
Caesar Real Estate Fund and others.
He is also chairman of Noriant Hercules Invest, Arcomet Group and CREF.
Since 2008 he President of The Flemish Council for Science and Innovation that acts as the strategic advisory body of the Flemish government on science and innovation policy. The VRWI has 20 members.
